Hello!
I'm setting up this blog to talk about the process and experience of starting an online petition. The purpose of the petition is to get critical mass behind the idea that the work of rebuilding New Orleans should go to the residents of New Orleans. They know it and love it best. They should benefit from all funds and projects that go towards the goal of restoring the Soul of America, New Orleans, Louisianna to her former and furture glory.
The vision is that all residents, but especially the poor and underserved resident CITIZENS of that town will come up like a pheonix better than before, healthier, stronger, more financially secure, with more skills and with the pride gained from rebuilding our beloved NOLA.
NOLA will not be a new South Beach playground for the rich. It will be a testament to the soul of the nation, the people of New Orleans. To honor the ancestors of America - her soul - the rebuilding contracts for New Orleans MUST go to the people of New Orleans and Lousianna.

I received a request to sign your petition. I am more than happy to sign, but feel like you need to make necessary spelling corrections before you send it on - for example, the state of Louisiana is misspelled throughout the petition as well as otherwords. If we want to be taken seriously on thisissue, please use your spell-check before sending.

I agree.
Sadly. I am dyslexic AND there is no available spell check after you have posted the petition...it is a done deal. Please sign anyway, if you genuinely agree with the sentiment, and make a note regarding you objections in the comments. We will meet in the 47th ring of Hell where bad spellers and English teachers work off their opposed sins somewhere in our mutual hot and smokey and eternal future.
Thanks,
Liz
